Valentine's is around the corner, and soon after the year picks up. Ah the breeziness of spring, the introduction of capri's; and the fun of Easter and Spring Break. Followed by basking in the warm summer sun. Shortly after is my personal favorite FALL!!!! Of course the grand finale of the year is my birthday, Thanksgiving, and CHRISTMAS! Being that the rest of the year is so glorious I can't understand why the year would chose to start it's self with January. Every year I am blind sighted by the hum-drum days of January. I made it all the way to the 6th or 7th this year without my normal hatred of the month, and thought I was home free. Then BAM the Januaries hit. I don't feel some of the negative feelings I have in the past, but true to form this month has left me feeling Janu"weary". Nothing major just the blahs.
In hopes of trying to spice life up a little and kick the blah, we have been trying things to bring some fun into the month. B and I were easily satisfied by a night of no cooking, by a few nights of early bed times for the girls, and by chillin' with the new Office episode. However Madelyn and Ellie seemed to have caught the blah's a little too. E has been seen standing by the door asking for bye bye a few times. Yesterday M in a very sweet/very desperate voice told me "I really need it to be my birthday..." So after some out of the box thinking, we threw a Pretend Birthday Party. Madelyn had an Easy Bake Oven birthday cake, presents (random things from around the house), a card, and a candle. Ben even sang Happy Birthday to her... the third time in 10 years I have heard him sing. She was very happy! We couldn't decide how old she was turning. Not 3 again, but not 4 yet. I suggested "faux" since it was a fake b-day and it sounds like 4, she started crying "I don't want to be Faux".

It only took a cup-cake to cheer up Ellie!

Wow! How creative you are and what a great mom you are! After nearly 2weeks on Weight Watchers I think a cup cake would cheer me up to! LOL. I really like January because we are so busy during December so I enjoy the down time. Ed and I are catching up on old episodes of NCIS.
I know what you mean! We had a
"cupcake" party the other night because Ava slept in her "big girl" bed all night long. We made a big deal about it because we were needing something to do!
You are an awesome mommy! I love that idea! Good one!
How fun! We could use a little pick me up around here, too. What a great idea!
I am so with you on January Blahs. Ready for February:) What a cute idea...a fake birthday party!
You are one creative chick! :) Maybe a walk around the neighborhood with a fun neighbor would do the trick?!
